YOUTH & CHILDREN MINISTRY (Y&C)

Our Heart to Yours

Y&C: Azizi Children’s Ministry

Positively reinforces the teachings of the Bible, including the importance of spiritual lessons through various activities throughout the year.  It also encourages the uplifting of God in our children (ages 9 and under) lives.

Y&C: Azizi Children’s Choir

Rehearsals (ages 4-11) are the 3rd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  Choir serves in worship services every 4th Sunday.

Y&C: Children’s Chapel & Youth Worship

Every 2nd and 3rd Sunday, 8:00 am and 10:30 am services. A guide to helping our children transition in a positive and spiritual way into the adult services. It also serves to spiritually enrich our children through the message, prayer, scripture, and singing.

Y&C: College Connect

Ministry that seeks to maintain a connection with our college students while they are away at college.

Y&C: Generation 8 Youth Choir

Rehearsals are Saturday before the 4th Sunday and 3rd Sunday each month.

Y&C: GAP– God’s Attainable Purpose (ages 10-12)

Provides a positive, spiritually-based environment for youth ages 10 -12 to learn how to live like Christ and apply Christ’s ways to their daily life.

Y&C: Junior Ushers Ministry

An usher’s ministry for youth ages 13-18. Ushers meet 2nd Saturdays from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm and usher every 2nd Sunday in Children’s Chapel and every 4th Sunday during regular worship services.

Y&C: Physical Fitness & Athletics

This ministry consists of athletic activities for children, youth and adults.

Y&C: Rites of Passage: Adigun Nkosi & Kentake

A thirteen-week program that teaches some of life’s essential, character-producing lessons in the African and African American traditions.

Y&C: Wednesday Night Live!

Offers scheduled tutoring and homework supervision during the Bible for Life class, along with Bible lesson activities and rap sessions.

Y&C: Westlake High School Support Ministry

A ministry designed to interact with our neighborhood high school in a variety of mutually supportive services.

Y&C: Wigglin’ Worshippers Nursery (ages 3 mos.-3 yrs.)

Provides childcare for children ages 3 and under for members and visitors during worship services on Sunday and Wednesday Bible for Life class.

Y&C: Teen Ministry

Provides a positive, spiritually-based environment for teens to learn how to live like Christ and apply Christ’s ways to their daily life.

Y&C: Zion Hill Chorale Readers

Provides a positive, spiritually-based environment for children to learn and enhance public speaking skills.

Provides a positive, spiritually based environment for children and youth 13-18 years old to praise God through MIME.

Y&C: Kiroho Dancers (Youth & Teens)

Provides a positive, spiritually based environment for children and youth to praise God through dance.

LARRY H. WILLIAMS EDUCATIONAL FUND (Appointed)

Provides financial assistance to members of Zion Hill who are currently enrolled in undergraduate or vocational institutions.

LCM: Ashesi After School & Summer Program

Ashesi (means “beginning“ in Fante, a Ghanaian lan-guage) Community Teaching (ACT): A ministry focused on educational and spiritual development of children and youth through afterschool care and summer enrichment programs.

LCM: Athletics, Recreation & Fitness Ministry

This ministry coordinates athletic activities for adults and youth and children held in the Love Center including children’s basketball team (under 12), a youth basketball team (ages 13-18), a men’s team (ages 19 and over), a co-ed softball team (ages 18 and up) and co-ed aerobics classes (ages 13 and up).

MEDIA MINISTRY

Responsible for the church’s audio/visual services and provide recording links of church services and special events.

MIGHTY MEN OF ZION USHERS MINISTRY

A ministry for men who perform as doorkeepers for the church.  They serve on the third Sunday of each month.

PHOTOGRAPHY MINISTRY

Skilled photographers who capture Zion Hill’s history through images by taking photos of worship services, special events and photo ops for archiving and promotional use.

SCHOOL OF LOVE, LEARNING & SERVICE (S.O.L.L.A.S.)

A ministry that provides Christian teaching for people of all ages.

SOCIAL MEDIA MINISTRY

A ministry whose task is to communicate the Gospel message as presented here at the church through various forms of social media.

A diverse group of musicians who praise God together with various instruments and serves every second Sunday.
